Careers at wairoa college
This year will see us grow our careers department, providing opportunities to leave to learn. Ada Clark our gateway
co-ordinater has some exciting plans starting with a new Agriculture club and a careers exploration program for our year 9 and 10 students that will see them connecting with the community, carrying out careers interviews, field trips, guest speakers, work exploration and interest exploration all part of a new focus for our junior students. We will continue with our STAR and Gateway program which will see some of our students leave school on Fridays to gain hands on experience in farming and agriculture. We have our regular trades academy students visiting EIT Gisborne and our university trip run by Mrs Karen Hayward to Victoria University. I encourage you to make the most of the opportunities we have available for you to explore your interests and connect you with people from outside the community. Keep an eye on the school notices.
